All Foresight Sports launch monitors must register and validate with our servers to unlock and maintain their full features.
Every 45 days, your device must connect to our servers to refresh its validation. If this step is missed, your device will go into restricted mode until validation is completed.
What Happens if Validation Expires
If your device goes past 45 days without validating:
Wireless connectivity to software (Wi-Fi / Bluetooth) will be disabled
Club data will be limited to 1-dot mode only
Features recently purchased (like Club Mode) or region unlocks will not activate until validation occurs
Once your device successfully validates again, full functionality is restored immediately.
When You Need Validation
Validation is required when:
Registering a new device for the first time
Every 45 days (to maintain access)
After purchasing or enabling features (e.g. Club Mode)
After a region unlock is applied
After subscription or license changes
How to Validate Your Device
You can validate through any of these methods (internet required):
Option 1: Foresight App (Recommended for Ground Devices)
For GC3, GC3s, Launch Pro, Launch Pro Indoors, GCQuad, and QuadMAX only
Install the Foresight App on your iOS or Android device.
Connect your launch monitor to the app via Bluetooth.
The app will automatically ping our server and apply validation.
Option 2: FSX 2020
Works with all devices
Ground devices: connect via USB or direct Ethernet
Overhead devices (GCHawk, Falcon): connect via Ethernet only
Launch FSX 2020 on your PC.
Connect your device.
FSX will validate your device with the server.
Option 3: FSX Play
Works with all devices
Ground devices: connect via USB or direct Ethernet
Overhead devices (GCHawk, Falcon): connect via Ethernet only
Launch FSX Play.
Connect your device.
FSX Play will complete validation automatically.
Option 4: FSX Pro (PC)
Works with all devices
Ground devices: connect via USB or direct Ethernet
Overhead devices (GCHawk, Falcon): connect via Ethernet only
Open FSX Pro (PC).
Connect your device.
Validation will occur in the background when FSX Pro communicates with our server.
Option 5: Hardware Diagnostic Tool
Works with all devices via USB
Download and install the Hardware Diagnostic Tool from the Foresight Support site.
Connect your device via USB.
Use the tool to manually ping our server and force validation.
Option 6: Direct Modem Ethernet Connection (Last-Ditch Validation)
If standard validation methods fail, a direct modem connection can help bypass network restrictions such as firewall rules or router-level filtering.
Steps:
Power the device completely off.
Locate an available Ethernet port on your internet modem (not the router).
Connect an Ethernet cable from the modem directly to the device.
Power the device on.
Allow the device time to communicate with Foresight Sports servers.
Registration and validation should complete automatically.
This method is intended as a troubleshooting fallback and is not required for normal operation.
Important Notes
Overhead devices such as Falcon and GCHawk are always validated through active software or Ethernet connections and do not support mobile app validation.
Validation requires an active internet connection.
Routers, firewalls, and managed networks can sometimes block validation traffic.
FAQs
Q: Why is validation required every 45 days?
This ensures your device stays in sync with our servers, applies any entitlement changes, and verifies licensing.
Q: What happens if my device goes into restricted mode?
You’ll lose wireless software connections and club data will be reduced to 1-dot mode. Re-validate to restore full functionality.
Q: Does validation erase my data?
No. Validation only updates licensing and entitlements.
Q: Can I use a mobile hotspot to validate?
Yes. As long as the hotspot has internet access and can reach Foresight servers, validation will work. If the hotspot uses the same ISP as your blocked network, the same issue may occur.
Q: My device won’t validate; what should I do?
Try a different network or hotspot. If issues continue, review our Fix: Product Network Connection Issues - Internet and Validation Errors article
