The GC2 ships with a dedicated power adapter designed to safely power and charge the device. This article explains where to find the power adapter in the packaging, its specifications, the connector type, and where it plugs into the GC2. Where to Find the Power Adapter
- Open the GC2 box and lift the lid to reveal the device in its foam tray.
- The power adapter is stored in a separate compartment at the front of the box, directly below the device.
- Look for the flap labeled GC2 Power Adapter. Use the finger notch to pull the flap open and remove the adapter.
Power Supply Specifications
The official GC2 power adapter is a switching-mode power supply with the following ratings, which are printed on the label of the power brick:
- Model: DYS836-150250W
- Part Number: DYS836-150250-19A28D
- Input: 100–240V AC, 50/60Hz, 1.0A max
- Output: 15.0V DC, 2.5A (37.5W)
- Certifications: UL Listed, CE, FCC, RCM, and Efficiency Level VI
Because the input supports 100–240V, the adapter works with standard wall outlets worldwide.
Important: Use only the power adapter included with your GC2. Using an unauthorized or incompatible adapter may damage the device, cause fire or injury, and will void your warranty.
What's Included
The GC2 power supply comes in two parts:
- Power adapter (brick) with DC cable: Converts wall power to 15V DC and connects to the GC2.
- AC power cord: A detachable cord with a figure-8 connector on one end and a wall plug for your region on the other. GC2s purchased in the US come with a US cord. International distributors replace it with a cord for their region.
Connector Type
- The GC2 power adapter uses a round DC barrel plug. It measures 5.5 mm outer diameter × 2.1 mm inner diameter.
- Polarity: Center positive (+).
- Push the plug straight into the port. Do not twist or force it.
Where to Plug It Into the GC2
The connection panel is on the back of the GC2, near the bottom of the unit. From left to right, the ports are:
- Power button
- USB-C port
- Ethernet port
- DC power input, labeled 15VDC
To connect the power supply:
- If your cord has protective caps on the wall plug prongs, remove them before use.
- Plug the figure-8 end of the AC power cord firmly into the power adapter.
- Insert the barrel plug firmly into the 15VDC port, the round port on the far right of the GC2's rear panel.
- Plug the AC power cord directly into a wall outlet. Avoid surge protectors, power strips, or extension cords.
- Press and release the power button to turn on the GC2.
