The GC2 has both wired and wireless connection types built in. Which connection types you can use is determined by the software you are connecting to, not by the hardware alone. This article explains the connection types on the GC2, which ones each Foresight software supports, and which cables you will need.
Note: Each software supports its own set of connection types, so a connection type being available on the GC2 does not mean every software supports it. This article covers software developed by Foresight Sports: Foresight Premier, the Foresight app, and legacy FSX software. If you are using software from another developer, see Connecting the GC2 to Third-Party Software.
Connection Types on the GC2
The GC2 hardware includes four connection types:
- USB-C (wired): A direct cable connection to the GC2. The USB-C port is also used for device diagnostics, log retrieval, and firmware updates.
- Ethernet (wired): A hardwired connection using a standard Ethernet cable.
- Wi-Fi (wireless): A wireless connection, either directly to the GC2 (Wi-Fi Direct) or through your local network.
- Bluetooth (wireless): A short-range wireless connection.
Which of these you can use depends on your software. See Supported Connections by Software below.
The USB-C and Ethernet ports are on the connection panel on the back of the GC2, near the bottom of the unit. The USB-C port is second from the left, and the Ethernet port is third from the left.
