GCQuad or QuadMax Randomly Restarting While Connected? Disable DMON

This article explains how to disable DMON (DHCP Monitor) on a GCQuad or QuadMax using the Hardware Diagnostic Tool (HDT).

If your GCQuad or QuadMax randomly restarts, reboots, or disconnects while connected to Foresight Sports software, the device may have DMON enabled. Disabling DMON through HDT can resolve this issue

What You’ll Need

  • A Windows PC

  • A USB-C cable (for the USB method)

  • The Hardware Diagnostic Tool (HDT)

💡 macOS is not supported for USB or HDT log retrieval.

Download the Hardware Diagnostic Tool (HDT)

  • Download & Install the Hardware Diagnostic Tool (v1.3.0.3) released July 17 2024:

Enabling APIPA via HDT

  1. Connect the GCQuad or QuadMax directly to your PC using the included USB-C cable

  2. Locate the Hardware Diagnostic Tool shortcut on your desktop

  3. Right-click the shortcut and select Open file location

    • Typical path:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Foresight Sports\Hardware Diagnostic Tool

  4. Open the Console folder

  5. Launch the HDT console application

  6. In the command prompt, type:

scan
  1. The console will scan for connected devices
IP: USB   SN: XXXXXX   Model: GCQ   Connection: USB
  1. In the command prompt, type:
connect usb XXXXXX

Replace XXXXXX with the serial number shown in the scan results

  1. If successful, you should see:
Connection to GC-Quad XXXXXX successful
  1. Disable DMON by typing:
dmon off
  1. If successful, you should see:
dmon mode set succeeded
  1. Close the HDT command console

After Disabling DMON

  • Disconnect the USB-C cable

  • Connect the device to the PC using Ethernet

  • Launch your Foresight Sports software and test if the device randomly restarts during use
