If your Foresight Sports software cannot activate or connect to your account, it may be due to an internet or firewall restriction blocking communication with our servers.
This article will guide you through checking your connection, firewall, and system settings to ensure our software can reach the necessary activation and licensing services.
Quick Troubleshooting
Verify your internet connection
Open a web browser and visit any website such as foresightsports.com.
If no website loads, you’ll need to resolve your internet connection issue before proceeding.Turn off VPNs or Proxy Services
If you’re using a VPN, proxy, or corporate filtering software, it may prevent the software from connecting to Foresight servers.
Disable any VPN or proxy temporarily, then retry activation.Try a different network
If possible, connect your PC to a mobile hotspot or a home Wi-Fi network.
If activation succeeds on another network, your primary network is likely blocking our connection.Run as Administrator
Right-click your Foresight Sports software icon and select “Run as Administrator.”
This ensures the app can communicate freely with Windows networking components.Restart your PC
Simple but effective; restarting can reset blocked or timed-out network processes that interfere with activation.
Firewall and Network Configuration
If you are on a managed or secure network (corporate, school, or business environment), ensure that your IT department has allowed outbound HTTPS (TCP 443) traffic to the following Foresight Sports domains:
api.foresightsports.com
api2.foresightsports.com
live.foresightsports.com
updates.foresightsports.com
cdn.foresightsports.com
These domains handle licensing, authentication, software updates, and content downloads.
Blocking or filtering any of them can prevent software activation and sign-in.
Tip: To simplify network management and ensure uninterrupted access, your IT team can whitelist the wildcard domain *.foresightsports.com instead of individual addresses.
Note: Foresight Sports services primarily use HTTPS (port 443). However, ensure outbound HTTP (port 80) traffic is not blocked, as it may be required for automatic redirection.
If your IT or firewall software uses category filtering, make sure Foresight Sports services are not categorized as “unknown,” “games,” or “sports.” These categories may be auto-blocked by stricter networks.
Add a Windows Defender Firewall Exception
Sometimes Windows Defender Firewall blocks the software’s network access, which stops activation or registration checks. To allow it through the firewall:
-
Open Windows Security
Press Windows key → type Windows Security → Enter.
-
Go to Firewall & network protection
Select Allow an app through firewall.
-
Click “Change settings”
You may need admin rights.
-
Add the application
Click Allow another app…
Browse to the installed software’s
.exe(e.g., the launcher or activation executable).Select Add.
-
Enable access
Make sure the app is checked for both Private and Public networks.
Click OK.
-
Restart the software
Close completely and reopen after updating firewall settings.
Tip: If you know your network is safe (e.g., home), enabling Private network access is usually sufficient.
Testing Access (Optional for Advanced Users)
If you want to verify that your network can reach our servers:
Open a browser and visit each of the domains listed above.
You may see a blank page or a simple “OK” message — this is expected. It confirms your PC can communicate with the Foresight Sports server. If any site fails to load, your network or firewall is blocking that endpoint.
You can share these domain URLs with your IT administrator to have them whitelisted.
Next Steps
If activation still fails after confirming your network access:
Confirm you are using the exact license key provided in your purchase email or FSX Live account (copy and paste directly, do not type manually).
Restart your PC and retry activation.
If the issue continues, submit a support request and include the phrase “Firewall or API connection issue” in your description so our team can prioritize your case.
FAQs
Q: Can I activate while on a VPN?
Not recommended. VPNs can route traffic through restricted regions or blocked IP ranges that interfere with activation. Disable VPNs before attempting to activate.
Q: What if I’m on a corporate network and cannot disable the firewall?
Provide your IT administrator with this article. They can verify that outbound HTTPS traffic on port 443 is allowed to the listed Foresight domains.
Q: Do I need to open any special ports other than 443?
No. All activation and licensing communications occur over standard HTTPS (port 443).
