Room Configuration is a short, one-time setup in Foresight Premier. You measure a few distances in your hitting bay and enter them, and the software does the rest.
When to Use Room Configuration
Use Room Configuration when you are setting up a new simulator, or if you are seeing any of the following:
- Your ball does not enter the simulated world where you expect it to on the impact screen.
- Your simulator does not look lined up with your hitting position.
- Your screen appears out of alignment with your shots.
- Your aim line sits too far left or right of center.
- You have moved your launch monitor, changed your hitting position, or adjusted your projector.
All of these are corrected by setting or updating your Room Configuration measurements.
What Room Configuration Does
Room Configuration tells Premier where your launch monitor sits in relation to your impact screen. This allows the software to place your ball's entry point — your impact location — accurately on the screen as it continues into the simulated world.
It does not affect data collection or measurement accuracy in any way. Your shot data is unchanged whether or not Room Configuration is set up.
Taking Your Measurements
Take these measurements before you begin. Have your projector running and displaying an image.
Image Width and Height
- Measure the projected image itself, not your screen frame or the wall behind it.
- Width is measured across the image, from the left edge of the picture to the right edge.
- Height is measured from the top edge of the image to the bottom edge.
- Premier calculates your aspect ratio automatically from these two figures.
Distance From Screen
- Measure from the impact screen to the nearest side of your launch monitor.
- Keep the tape square to the screen rather than angled.
Distance From Center
- Measure from the center line of the projected image across to your launch monitor.
- This is the lateral offset only. Measure straight across rather than diagonally.
Surface Height
- This accounts for a height difference between the bottom edge of your screen and the surface your launch monitor sits on, such as mat thickness.
- Leave this at 0 unless you are confident there is a gap to account for.
Accessing Room Configuration
- Open Foresight Premier and go to General Settings.
- Select Room Configuration from the list of options on the left.
- Confirm the correct device is selected at the top of the panel. Your launch monitor model and serial number are shown there.
- Make sure the Room Configuration toggle is switched on.
Entering Your Setup
- Select your Handedness — Left or Right.
- Select your Units — Inches or Meters.
- Under Image, enter your width and height.
- Under Device Distance, enter your distance from screen, distance from center, and surface height.
- Select Save.
Note:
Selecting Reset clears your entries and returns the fields to their defaults. If you move your launch monitor or adjust your projector, return to Room Configuration and update your measurements.
