This guide explains how to properly position and configure your projector for Foresight Sports Sim-in-a-Box (SIAB) systems; including the Play 10 and 12’w enclosures.
Following these setup recommendations will ensure your image fills the entire impact screen for the best simulator experience.
SIAB Play 10 Setup
Projector Model: Epson Home Cinema 1080
Aspect Ratio: 4:3
Recommended Throw Distance: ≈ 176 in (14 ft 8 in)
Viewable Screen Size: 93 in H × 102 in W
Position the projector on the included cart about 176 in from the impact screen (measured from lens to screen).
The Epson 1080 will project slightly wider (≈ 121 in W). Use corner correction or horizontal keystone to pull it into the correct width.
Center the image vertically and horizontally before fine-tuning.
💡 Tip: If your image doesn’t reach the top or bottom of the screen, use small zoom or corner corrections until it fits precisely within the white impact area.
SIAB 12’W Universal Setup
Projector Model: EIKI EK-308U
Aspect Ratio: 16:10
Recommended Throw Distance: ≈ 164 in (13 ft 8 in)
Viewable Screen Size: 90 in H × 132 in W
Position the projector on the included cart about 164 in from the impact screen (measured from lens to screen).
The EIKI EK-308U projects slightly wider than the screen; use horizontal keystone or corner correction to pull the sides in evenly.
Avoid extreme correction to prevent distortion or uneven focus.
PC Display Settings
For the best image clarity and aspect ratio:
Resolution: 1920×1080 (Play 10) or 1920×1200 (12’W Universal)
Scaling: 100% (Recommended)
Display Mode: Duplicate or Extend (Display #2 = projector)
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: My image still doesn’t fill the screen — what should I check?
A: Confirm your projector distance matches the recommended throw and the lens is centered on the screen. Then adjust zoom or use the projector’s corner correction.
Q: The image looks stretched or squished.
A: Make sure your PC’s display resolution matches the projector’s aspect ratio (4:3 for Play 10, 16:10 for Universal).
Q: Can I use a different projector?
A: Only projectors with similar throw ratios to the Epson 1080 (Play 10) or EIKI EK-308U (12’W) will properly fill the screen. If you’re substituting, match throw ratio and brightness specs.
Q: What if I’m using a cart instead of a ceiling mount?
A: You can still achieve a correct image as long as throw distance and lens height match the above recommendations. Just make sure the image fully fills the screen and isn’t distorted.
